Vivek Shangari. Builder of intelligent things.
Four ventures. Two profitable exits. 12,000+ developers trained. Three books published. And a lifelong compulsion to understand how everything works, and then explain it to someone who thought they couldn't.

Open to strategic conversations: Investor dialogues on AI, Quantum, and EdTech ventures. I read every message at vivekcomputes.in
A track record built across 19 years - from HR analytics to mobile AI to EdTech. Each venture was capital-efficient, founder-led, and built to create durable value. The failure is listed without apology: it taught more than any of the exits.

Career Timeline
29 years. Every chapter deliberate.
Eight years writing code before founding anything. The kind of foundation — earned line by line — that makes every system hold under pressure. From programmer to CTO to founder: a compound trajectory.

ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP
Program Manager — ICICI oneSource
Global Financial Services · 2004 – 2006
Cross-functional delivery programmes at enterprise scale. Built the stakeholder management and P&L discipline that underpinned three venture builds.

Domains & Capability
Depth across the full stack.
Not a list of languages — a practitioner's toolkit. Each capability below represents years of applied work across multiple ventures, not certification badges. The radar shows where the depth lives.
Most leaders track metrics. Few use them as a lens through which to view culture, discipline, patience, and honesty. These four business-economic concepts are the operating system beneath every company Vivek has built.
LTV : CAC
Culture by Design
Chasing LTV:CAC as a primary metric forces an obsession with customer success, not just acquisition. A high ratio demands you invest in the customer after the sale — in onboarding, retention, outcomes. When this obsession is institutionalised, it becomes culture. Great companies don't declare their culture. They derive it from the metrics they choose to chase.
"Your primary metric is your primary value. Choose it accordingly."
Contribution Margin
Intellectual Honesty
Most leaders celebrate revenue. Contribution margin per product line forces the organisation to have an honest conversation about what is actually working. Revenue hides. Contribution margin reveals. A leader who insists on this number is a leader who insists on truth — even when the truth is that a beloved product is a drag on the business.
"Revenue is vanity. Contribution margin is clarity."
Payback Period
Patience as Strategy
The payback period on a great hire, a new market, or a technology investment is almost always longer than a quarterly earnings cycle. Payback period thinking defends long-horizon decisions to short-horizon stakeholders. It turns a finance concept into an argument for conviction — and for the patience that separates companies that endure from those that optimise themselves into irrelevance.
"If your strategy fits inside a quarter, it isn't a strategy."
Burn Multiple
Discipline as Respect
Burn Multiple (net burn ÷ net new ARR) measures how much you spend to generate each rupee of new revenue. Vivek tracks this not just as a capital-efficiency metric but as a proxy for organisational respect — respect for the investor's capital, the team's time, and the customer's trust. A high burn multiple is a symptom of a culture that hasn't learned to say no.
"Every rupee burned without purpose is a vote against your own mission."
The REST Philosophy: Research · Experiment · Study · Teach. Four commitments that compound over a lifetime. The same loop that built codeCraft's AI in 2010 is still running — now applied to quantum algorithms, deep learning architectures, and the next book.
Authorship
Ideas too important to keep to himself.
Three books published across Science, Mathematics, and Philosophy. Each one written for the kind of mind that finds rigour and humour to be two sides of the same coin. More coming in 2027.
MATHEMATICS · PSYCHOLOGY · HUMOUR
The Mathematics of Anxiety
A field guide to the anxious brain, written in equations, bad jokes, and the only mathematics serious enough for the job.
A fourth book is in progress. Several more titles are scheduled for 2027 — spanning mathematics, computer science, and philosophy.
Beyond Code
The human in the machine.
The interests that keep the mind elastic — because the best builders are rarely just builders. These are not hobbies. They are the source of the thinking style.
The Machine Whisperer
When not building companies, Vivek is in the garage with his Harley Davidson — stripping it to the last bolt under the noble banner of "tuning." The rebuilding is a multi-weekend saga involving patience, precision, and one mystery screw that defies physics. The skills transfer: both a Harley and a distributed system reward understanding over guesswork.
Algorithmic Puzzler
Designing puzzles is the other form of coding — you are writing a program that runs in someone else's mind. The code: easy to explain, wicked to solve, elegant in answer. This is also how Vivek leads teams: give people a problem worth solving, and step back while they solve it.
Science Communicator
Science locked in ivory towers is science wasted. Whether explaining quantum entanglement to a curious CFO, or making calculus feel like a plot twist to a student who has always hated mathematics — the goal is always the same: make the difficult feel inevitable in retrospect. This is the philosophy behind three published books, and counting.
The REST Framework
Research · Experiment · Study · Teach. The personal operating system that has compounded since 1998. Research because the frontier is where interesting problems live. Experiment because theory without practice is trivia. Study because the library never closes. Teach because it is the highest form of understanding.
Compulsive Reader
An overflowing library and bedside technical manuals are the result of a reading habit that began at 8. Calculus, LISP, quantum field theory, and science fiction are equally welcome on the same shelf. The reading is not recreational — it is the input to everything else.
Teacher at Heart
12,000+ developers trained is not just a metric — it is evidence of a philosophy. Teaching is the most honest test of understanding. When you can make eigenvectors feel like a plot twist and recursion feel like time travel, you have understood the material deeply enough to dissolve it. This is also how Vivek builds teams.
Connect
Let's build something consequential.
Whether you are assessing frontier tech or simply curious, the best partnerships start with a real conversation, not a pitch deck.
